Adam Negus has been a stalwart of weekend schedules since 1991 (he started very young – Ed) and was quite taken aback on receiving his 25-year long service certificate from the Hospital Broadcasting Association when one of his team pointed out that Adam had been doing hospital radio almost as long as he’d been alive! These days he is in charge of the Sunday evening HRR Requests show but for many years he also presented music from stage & screen in “Showtime”. When not on HRR Adam works for St John Ambulance as a trainer and also volunteers as a Community First Responder for South Central Ambulance, the National Trust as a room guide in one of their local properties and – as if that wasn’t enough – also serves as a Youth Worker/Leader in a local youth club and can even be seen treading the boards in South Oxfordshire pantomimes! Not many people know that Adam also has an unusual hobby : he is a member of the Casualties’ Union, which provides casualties/patients with realistic (but fake!) injuries for the medical profession, the emergency services, and those who teach first aid, nursing and rescue.
