Tom Meyer has enjoyed his time on the Saturday Lunchtime HRR Requests team since joining us in autumn 2018. He was bitten by the radio bug when he took a radio module during his music degree and really enjoyed it, especially when he was able interview the drum and bass DJ Nick Hill from Loadstar for Eagle Radio in Guildford. Tom currently works as a data analyst here at the Royal Berks but his ambition is to work in radio “so any job offers would be gratefully accepted 😉 !”

He is also a talented classical and jazz pianist, who once played at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London, and a Black Belt in Karate (!). He has been a big fan of Absolute Radio and its presenters for over 10 years and his musical preferences extend to most genres but particularly Jazz, Drum and Bass and 80s Pop. If you have the chance to hear Tom’s cultured public-school tones on-air you may be surprised to learn that he was actually born and spent his early years in the USA so he enjoys American as well as British nationality : “I used to have a strong American accent but now it’s a full-blown British one!"

Stuart Holden spent several years on the Friday HRR Requests team before taking over his current Saturday morning slot at the end of 2009.
